The activists said the lands, which are marked under a title in ODP are not the same in reality and vice-versa. Officials of the PWD, RTO, Survey, SGPDA and others were present at the inspection.
Sanjeev Raiturkar said, “Till date all spoke on ODP issues but no practical inspections and cross-checking happened. Now, for example, the land, where the Kadamba bus stand has been marked, we checked whether it is marked for the same or not. Similarly, the land besides Kadamba is for RTO. But is it marked for RTO on ODP is to be checked and if not, we demand that it be included.”
“We are here for development of the town. We had had an agitation against the proposed ODP in 2008 when Digambar and Vijai had claimed to be unequivocally against the development proposed by the then Government. Now, they are proposing the development but we want it to be done the way we began the fight for,” Sanjiv added.
The activists also took the RTO officials on a Margao tour to show how the public transport buses are causing traffic problems in the town. The activists have pressed for solutions to all the problems they have highlighted.
