MARGAO: The BJP office bearers of Velim have resigned en masse alleging that the Government and the party failed them and done injustice to the workers.
The karyakartas said that the party and the Government have failed to resolve the issues in Velim constituency especially the Betul issue and Hindu crematorium issue at Chinchinim.
The office bearers Vivan Raikar, Ulhas Prabhu, Sunil Revonkar and 18 others said that such an attitude of the party and government led them to quit.
“We have always stood with the party till date, but whatever is happening since last one year is damaging for the party as well as the well wishers. This is not acceptable to us. All this while the pot has been boiling silently and we fear that it may explode sooner rather than later. This should never happen,” the workers said.
They also said that party workers have been taken for granted and assurances given to them were not fulfilled.
