VASCO: The officials of National Highways Authority of India and PWD carried out a joint site inspection for the proposed ‘Up Ramp Connectivity’ to the four-lane port flyover at Vasco. Vasco MLA Krishna ‘Daji’ Salkar and Mormugao Municipal Council councillors were also present.
“Works on the up ramp will start within a week and will be completed within nine months — by November this year. Also the work of the port connectivity arm connecting the flyover will start simultaneously and it too will be completed within nine months,” the MLA said. The proposed up ramp will be the third access and was a necessity and need of the hour to ease traffic in the port town. The works of up ramp will start from the Maharaja Hotel, Vasco, and connect the four-lane port connectivity flyover which proceeds to Verna junction via Dabolim Airport road.
