In a recent move, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by ₹21 per cylinder, effective from December 1. This adjustment follows a ₹57 decrease on November 16 and a ₹100 hike on November 1. Notably, the price of domestic LPG for household kitchens remains steady at ₹903 per 14.2-kg cylinder.
Following the recent hike, the 19 kg LPG cylinder is now priced at ₹1796.50 in Delhi, ₹1908 in Kolkata, ₹1749 in Mumbai, and ₹1968.50 in Chennai. Comparatively, the previous prices were ₹1775.50, ₹1885.50, ₹1728, and ₹1942, respectively.

In October, the 19-kg cylinder saw an increase of ₹209, while in September, the government had reduced the price of commercial gas cylinders by ₹158. August witnessed a decrease of ₹99.75 in the price of the 19-kg cylinder.
Simultaneously, the price of Jet fuel or Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) experienced its second reduction in one month. The ATF price dropped by 4.6 per cent to ₹1,06,155.67 per kilolitre in the national capital from ₹1,11,344.92 per kl, according to a notification from state-owned fuel retailers.
State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise cooking gas and ATF prices on the 1st of every month, based on the average international prices in the preceding month.
In a notable development, the Union cabinet approved an increase in the cooking gas subsidy, raising it from ₹200 to ₹300 per cylinder for approximately 96 million low-income households on October 4. This move is part of ongoing efforts, including the expansion of the PM Ujjwala Yojana scheme, to benefit 7.5 million more women, totalling 103.5 million beneficiaries over the next three years.
