PANJIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant completed two years in office on Friday. Speaking on the occasion he said, “Today as I complete two years as the Chief Minister of the State of Goa, I wish to express my heartfelt thanks to the loving people who have placed their trust in me. I am deeply honoured with the support I’ve felt through a difficult phase of pandemic to make Goa strong again.”
He added, “I truly appreciate everyone’s efforts and commitments to make this journey a beautiful one. With your continued trust, I will work tirelessly towards making Goa Swayampurna and address every challenge that comes our way.”
BJP India president JP Nadda tweeted his praise for the CM saying, “Warm wishes to @DrPramodPSawant ji for completing 2 years as CM of Goa. BJP has earned the unique distinction of development & good governance & I applaud his dedication in implementing PM’s antyodaya policies in letter & spirit.”
Sawant later thanked the party president and stated that under Nadda’s leadership support and guidance, the BJP government in Goa has been working tirelessly for fulfilling the aspirations of Goans through the Prime Minister’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the State’s Swayampurna Goem programme.
Speaking to media persons, Sawant said that his two biggest challenges were COVID management and financial management. He added that the pandemic meant that the government had to find ways of managing the administration in such a way that the public was not affected and that they tried to provide the best of facilities, schemes etc to the people. He further spoke about the initiatives such as Goa@60 and India@75 where the focus will be on infrastructure and human development.
BJP Goa president Sadanand Shet Tanavade and BJP local leaders met Sawant on Friday at his official resident to congratulate and wish him on the achievement. Tanavade expressed confidence that the CM will take Goa to greater heights.
Opposition MLA Rohan Khaunte also tweeted on the occasion saying, “Congratulating @DrPramodPSawant on completion of 2 years as @goacm. For the remainder tenure, Goans expect a Pro-Mollem, Pro-Mhadei & For Goa Administration that works in the best interests of Goa & not the Centre.”
