In a narcotic raid conducted on Saturday near Dolphin Circle, Naikawado, Calangute, a team from Calangute Police Station arrested John, also known as Joao Antonio Lopez, for illegal possession of heroin. The team comprised PSI Akshay Parsekar, PC Gaurish Karbotkar, PC Raj Parab, PC Amir Garad, and PC Manoj Naik.
The accused, John Antonio Lopez, 53, a resident of Maddowado, Calangute, Bardez Goa, was found with 4.6 grams of heroin valued at approximately Rs. 46,000. The arrest followed credible information received by Calangute Police that a male suspect would be delivering narcotic drugs to customers.
The raid was conducted in the presence of panchas, and the narcotics were seized. PSI Akshay Parsekar filed a complaint regarding the illegal possession of narcotic drugs, leading to the registration of an offence under the NDPS Act, 1985, by PSI Vishwajit Dhavalikar.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of PI Paresh Naik of Calangute Police Station, with overall supervision by SDPO Porvorim, Vishwesh Karpe, and SP North, Akshat Kaushal, IPS.
