One booked for fake currency

PANJIM: The Economic Offences Cell of Goa Police has booked one Prashant Surlikar for allegedly depositing fake Indian currency notes at the State Bank of India in July.

PANJIM: The Economic Offences Cell of Goa Police has booked one Prashant Surlikar for allegedly depositing fake Indian currency notes at the State Bank of India in July. 
The police have registered an offence under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code taking cognizance of a complaint filed by Ashok Sahoo, Branch Manager SBI Treasury Branch, Panjim. 
Sahooin his complaint, alleged that Surlikar deposited three Indian Counterfeit Currency notes of Rs 1000 denomination at the Panjim SBI branch on July 3. It was during the verification that the notes were detected as counterfeit. 
Police said they have begun an investigation and are questioning all those related to the case. The officials will also probe whether any more counterfeit notes have been deposited in the other banks and the person’s link in other similar cases reported in the past.
