In a commendable display of community vigilance, locals in Verna, a locality within the Loutolim area of Goa, apprehended a person red-handed while illegally dumping a truckload of garbage in an open area at the Verna industrial estate.

The truck, bearing Haryana registration, was caught in the act by Blaze Mota, an attentive resident of the area. Upon discovery, Mota confronted the driver and insisted that the entire load of garbage be reloaded onto the truck. When questioned about whether he had reported the incident to any authorities, Mota expressed frustration, stating that previous complaints to local departments and the panchayat had yielded no results.

This incident has prompted a renewed demand from the local community for increased police patrolling in the area to prevent such unlawful dumping from recurring. The episode underscores the importance of community engagement and vigilance in maintaining the cleanliness and sanctity of public and private spaces, especially in industrial areas.
