PONDA: Kajumal-Mollem local Subash Khutkar, aged 52, died on the spot in a tragic accident after he lost control of two-wheeler due to obstruction of stray cattle, at Melca-Mollem, on Thursday.
According to Collem Police, Subash was proceeding towards Kajumal from Dharbandora on his two-wheeler. When he reached at Melca-Mollem, he lost control over the vehicle while negotiating the herd of stray cattle and fell on the road just when the oncoming truck from opposite direction went over him. The truck after the accident hit the roadside tree.
The Mollem locals said that the stray cattle have become a major problem on the highway inviting accidents and the government should come out with some action plan to prevent the menace.
