VASCO: A technical fitter from UP died, while two others escaped unhurt while they were working in the tank of a dredger at Harbour on Monday evening.
According to Mormugao Police, Ramesh Sharma, residing at Jetty Sada, who was working along with the two other employees inside the tank, suddenly fell unconscious.
Police further informed that the other two workers rushed out of the tank and informed others and Sharma was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared dead on admission.
Speaking to media, company owner Rajesh Mauria informed that Sharma fell unconscious due to some gas formation which also affected his other two employees, who were working in the tank of the dredger.
While the exact cause of Sharma’s death is not known, police have sent the body for autopsy at Hospicio in Margao.
Mormugao PSI Shailesh Narvekar is investigating the case.
