One held by Old Goa police

Old Goa Police late Sunday night arrested one Ashok Jadav of Tisk-Usgao and native of Jharkhand for allegedly trying to dump sand on a communidade land in Akhada-St Estevam.
According to Old Goa police, the complaint was lodged by St Estevam Sarpanch Erasma Magalahaes along with the five panchas and villagers of St Estevam.
According to villagers, Ashok had first started dumping mud on the communidade land on December 24. Thereafter on January 4, Ashok was caught red-handed while trying to dump sand for construction purpose.
Old Goa police said that Ashok confirmed that he had dumped sand at the site following the instructions of Surendra Volvoikar. Police arrested Ashok under Section 5 (1) of Goa Land Prohibition and Construction Act.
