One held for assaulting brother

Calangute Police on Thursday arrested a person on charges of assaulting his brother at Saligao.
According to Calangute Police, Philip Mascarenhas allegedly assaulted his brother Peter, who is a postman.
In another incident on Wednesday, taxi driver Rohan Korgaonkar of Verla-Canca was assaulted by his neighbours while he was on his way near Hotel Neelam Grand at Calangute at about 5.45 pm.
Calangute Police on Thursday registered a case of assault, while no arrests have been made so far. Havaldar Ramesh Shet is investigating the case under the supervision of Calangute PI Manjunath Dessai.
In yet another incident, Ashok Rane of Porba Vaddo-Calangute was grievously injured in a self-stabbing case. Rane was rushed to GMC Hospital in Bambolim. Police is investigating the case.
