CALANGUTE: Calangute Police arrested one Sameer Pavaskar for allegedly damaging the popular Souza Lobo Restaurant at the Calangute beach on Saturday.
The locals claimed that a person from Delhi was in the process of carrying out illegal construction adjacent to the restaurant violating the CRZ norms.

Calangute Police have booked Sameer for assault, trespass and for damaging property.
Restaurant owner Jude Lobo said, “Around 50 people trespassed into our property including females at around 2 am and first broke the compound wall and damaged the traditional pathway. Later, they trespassed and broke property of our restaurant including steps, tables and chairs. They assaulted our staff including security guards and also threatened the staff with dire consequences. Earlier to this incident, the concerned person, who has bought the adjacent property, is from Delhi and had threatened us with dire consequences”.
