MARGAO: The protestors, who doubled up as “chowkidars” of Goa during the agitation in Davorlim against the double tracking of rail line, on Monday decided against backing down.
The protestors after midnight decided to together travel the entire stretch of the Davorlim rail line to ascertain the level of damage that has been caused and will be caused if coal transportation continues further. The protests ended at 4.30 am.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Digambar Kamat on Monday thanked the former minister of environment and forests for extending support to the Save Mollem campaign.
“Government should know that it is to show our sensitivity towards the issues raised by the people,” said Kamat.
At midnight, the agitators were briefed by the locals that work has already been completed on either side of the tracks.
The agitators then decided to inspect the site all along the tracks.
The protestors later questioned the police why such a massive force was required at the gate when the work was not supposed to be carried out.
The protestors demanded that the mamlatdar give a written assurance that he will not allow the work to be carried out any further and also withdraw the permission granted for the second track work.
The Congress has decided to hold meetings to plan their future course of action.
