MARGAO: Margao Police arrested one Rohit Varma, aged 31, near Margao Railway Station area for riding his scooter in a rash and negligent manner under the influence of alcohol.
According to Margao Town Police, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Margao Traffic Cell Damodar Mestri lodged a complaint against Varma, native of Uttar Pradesh, stating that he was riding his scooter in a rash and negligent manner under the influence of liquor thereby endangering human life and personal safety of others.
Based on the complaint, an offence under Section 279,336 of IPC and 185 of Motor Vehicle Act has been registered against him.
Police said that the alleged accused was arrested and released on bail. His scooter has been seized.
