PANJIM: The Cyber Crime Cell arrested one Lysander Monteiro for allegedly posting morphed and obscene pictures of two women on a social media platform. The youth from Taleigao, according to the police, had created a fake profile on Instagram where he allegedly posted objectionable photographs of the victims.
“Soon after receiving a complaint, the cyber team registered FIR under Section 67 of the Information Technology Act and initiated investigation. Upon technical analysis, the accused was identified as Lysander. He was soon taken into custody and all articles relevant to the case seized for forensic,” an official said.
With this being the fourth case within a month, the Cyber Cell team has advised people not to interact with unknown persons online without verification and to maintain social media profiles in private mode.
