MAPUSA: Mapusa Police on Saturday arrested one kumar Nayak alias Naik for allegedly raping a 16-year-old minor girl.
According to the police, mother of the 16-year-old victim girl lodged a complaint against her neighbour for allegedly raping her daughter.
According to the sources, the incident occurred last year in June when the alleged accused person entered in a toilet where complaint’s minor daughter had gone during night to answer the nature’s call and allegedly touched her inappropriately and further allegedly raped her. After raping, the accused threatened the victim with dire consequence.
Acting on complaint, the police have arrested the accused person under Section 376, 506 (II) of Indian Penal Code and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act and Section 4, 8 of POSCO Act. The police are further investigating case.
