MAPUSA: Calangute police arrested one Gopal Madhukar Bawne (25), a native of Nagpur for stealing two cell phones of one Karan Singh Rawat, a tourist from Pune.
On receiving a complaint from Rawat that the accused stole two of his cell phones worth Rs 30,000 at Baga, police launched a search operation in Baga and Calangute.
During the search, police found the accused moving suspiciously near Calangute market; on searching his person, police found the two stolen cell phones. Calangute police are presently interrogating the accused to find out if he is involved in more such cases. PSI Rishikesh Patil is investigating the case.
