MAPUSA: Calangute police have arrested a West Bengal native with heroine and Ganja worth Rs 1,05,000. According to PI Jivba Dalvi, in a narcotic raid conducted near St Anthony Chapel in Calangute on Sunday, police arrested Gokul Maity (32) with drug substances suspected to be heroine and Ganja.
PI Dalvi said that on a tipoff that a person was coming to deliver drugs near the chapel, his police team raided the place and arrested Maity with drug substances suspected to be heroine worth Rs 80,000 and ganja worth Rs 25,000. Accused is booked under Section 20(b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act. The raid was conducted between 4 am and 6 am. The raiding team headed by PI Jivba Dalvi consisted of PSI Girish Padloskar, PC Dinesh Morajkar, Govind Shirodkar and Vallabh Pednekar.
