VASCO: The Vasco police arrested Mainuddin Nawaz Shaikh (25), a resident of Sasmolem-Baina, on the charge of possessing 2.3 kgs of ganja valued at Rs 2.5 lakh.
Vasco Police Inspector Kapil Nayak said that acting on an credible information the narcotic raid was conducted near KTC bus stand, Vasco.
The accused was a habitual offender and was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in the past and is facing trial in the court.
Vasco police have registered a case against Shaikh under Section 20 (b) (ii) (B) of NDPS Act 1985.
