PANJIM: The Crime Branch arrested a middle-aged man for possessing party drugs worth almost Rs 1.56 lakh in a midnight raid at Ashwem, Mandrem.
Accused Abdulla Bardila, 51, was arrested by the Crime Branch after he was found in possession of one polythene bag containing in it white colour powder suspected to be cocaine, weighing 12.64 grams. Another bag containing crystal powder in it suspected to be MDMA, weighing 3.82 grams was found. The seized drugs are worth Rs. 1.56 lakhs approximately in the international market.

The arrested accused is a resident of Marna-Siolim in Bardez and a native of Krishnapura in Mangaluru.
According to police they had got a tip off from their intelligence that drugs will be brought for sale at a restaurant in Ashwem. Accordingly the team of Crime branch laid a trap and arrested the accused red handed.
