One hour extra for voting for April 23 polls

MARGAO: Voting for the Lok Sabha elections in South Goa on April 23, will commence at 7 am and end at 6 pm which is actually giving one extra hour for people to exercise their franchise disclosed the Returning Officer Ajit Roy who is the South Goa Collector.
Elections will be conducted through 810 polling stations that will be provided 1067 ballot units, 1068 control units and 1100 VVPAT machines. The additional machines are provided as safety measure in case of problems.
Incidentally, each ballot unit can have only 15 candidates’ names excluding “None of The Above” and hence if there are more than 15 candidates another ballot unit will be used where the voter can select his candidate.
