PANJIM: An unknown person impersonating as Governor Sreedharan Pillai, on Saturday sent messages to journalists seeking money.
Several journalists across Goa received message from WhatsApp number 7409105430 requesting them to send a Google Play gift card or to send money via Amazon or Google Pay.
“There are some listed prospect I am presenting to today. I can’t get it done myself due to meetings and I don’t have any of my cards with me. How quickly can you arrange these gift cards because I need to send them out in less than an hour. I would provide you with the type of gift cards and the amount of each. I will reimburse you before the end of the day,” the message reads.
Crime Branch sleuths said they are carrying out a technical analysis to track down the accused.
