CANACONA: In an accident between a mini bus and a two-wheeler at Gaondogrem, the pillion rider was killed when he came under the rear wheels of the mini bus. However, the rider escaped with minor injuries.
According to Canacona police, a mini bus with registration number GA-09-U-5786 was proceeding from Canacona to Tudal in Gaondogrem, when a scooter lost control and came under the wheels of the bus near Government high school at Gaondogrem.
Police said the rider, Sandesh Gaonkar, applied sudden brakes at the sharp turn and lost control of the two wheeler, due to which the pillion rider, Shabu Modko Gaonkar aged 65 resident of Badsarem, Gaondogrem, fell from the bike and came under the rear wheels of the bus on the driver side resulting in instantaneous death.
The dead body was shifted to Hospicio hospital for post mortem.
