CUNCOLIM: One more interstate bus was stoned late Tuesday night on NH 17 along the Cuncolim-Canacona road. Stones were pelted at Nayaband and bus driver Sharad Kiran was seriously injured when the stone hit him on the face damaging his teeth and eye. Doctors suspect glass pieces have entered the eye.
There were two mini buses arranged by a private tour operator, mostly with tourists, proceeding to Mangalore from Colva. One of the buses was stoned, in a modus operandi similar to the one used on Monday night when the stones were pelted by people on a motorcycle.
The injured driver and passengers were shifted by another bus driver to Balli health centre. The injured driver was later shifted to Hospicio Hospital, Margao.
Cuncolim Police have failed to nab the culprits, though the stoning incidents occurred a short distance from Cuncolim Police Station.
