Morjim:Herald impact- Pernem police booked a person for allegedly bursting fire crackers on Morjim beach which is a Turtle nesting site.
The incident occured on Tuesday late evening when Herald team highlighted the issue through a video of fire crackers bursting at the beach, taking cognizance of the same, Chief minister directed the Pernem police to take immediate action.
Immediately a team headed by PI Vikram Naik rushed to the spot and caught one Rahul Hetha Ksatria native of Lucknow who was caught red handed while bursting fireworks thereby endangering human life and making the atmosphere noxious to health.
A case has been registered under section 188,278,336 of Indian Penal Code. Pernem police are further investigating into the case.
Goa Costal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) have declared the Coastal belt of Pernem from Temwada Morjim to Ashwem silent zone as the site are declared as turtle nesting zone due to which, playing loud music, burning fire crackers and lighting bright lights is prohibited in this area
