rnA 30-year-old man from Mulgao-Bicholim was crushed under a railway near Shirgao railway tracks at Bicholim in the wee hours of Friday.
rnAccording to reports, Harishchandra M Gaonkar, originally from Pisurlem, but presently residing at Manaswada-Mulgao, was crushed by a train at about 3.30 am on Friday.
rnMARCEL CORRESPONDENT ADDS: A 33-year-old pillion rider died, after the two-wheeler on which she was traveling met with an accident at Zydin Wado, Khandola, on Friday at about 7.15 am.
rnAccording to Ponda Police, Gaurisha Sawant had taken lift from one Prakash Tari. Both were proceeding from Amona towards Panjim on a two wheeler (GA-04-B-4237).
rnOn reaching Khandola, some 4 kms from Amona, the two-wheeler collided head-on with an oncoming four-wheeler (GA-01-E-1438).Pillion rider Sawant died on the way to GMC Hospital at Bambolim, while two-wheeler rider Prakash Tari escaped with minor injuries.
rnPonda Police arrested the four-wheeler driver Dhanjay Gaonkar. PSI Nikhil Palekar is investigating the case.
