PANJIM: Stating that the onion prices have starting decreasing in last few days, Horticulture Corporation chairman Pravin Zantye said the regular supply of onions has begun.
“Onion prices have come down to Rs 57 per kg at Horticulture outlets and will decrease further as normal supply has begun,” Zantye said.
Speaking to Herald, Zantye said there were various reasons for the spiralling prices of onions like the extended monsoon season etc.
“Thankfully, the issue is getting settled and next few days prices will be much less,” the Mayem MLA said.
He said the Horticulture Corporation has been encouraging the local producers with extra incentives.
