PANJIM: The Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has developed a robust online mechanism, which will help the parents to assess the performance of their children studying in ITIs and so also for industries to pick the candidates suitable for their jobs.

Minister Vishwajit Rane on Monday launched online facility for admissions in 13 ITIs across State for the academic year 2020-21 and Data Management System of the students.

With this launch, students will no longer require to buy a hard copy of the prospectus from designated centres. Also this will make the process easy, intuitive and time saving.

The online admission process will help student create a pre-filling of trade preferences, instead of waiting on the day of the rounds, as done earlier. This will also generate bulk student registration numbers a complete history of the student right from admission to placement.

Rane said the department has been making concentrated efforts towards the implementation of an efficient and transparent mechanism to transform the system by leveraging the benefits of information technology.

“We are happy to announce the launch of online admissions to ITI and student Data Management System with an aim to bring forth efficiency in the complete admission process and to manage crucial student data, facilitate easy monitoring of students’ activities,” he said.

The minister said the data management system, a robust mechanism, will also help parents to see the performance of their child. “It will also provide database for industries looking for skilled workforce,” he said.

Rane informed that the department’s main aim is to bring Goa a step closer to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India and Skill India.
