PERNEM: The police deployed at the Patradevi check post have commenced checking tourists entering Goa for COVID negative certificate as per government order.
However, the government has not made any provision to check the COVID status of tourists entering the State everyday from the check post.
It’s shocking that there is no COVID testing facility in place at Patradevi check post.
The police at the check post are only directed to note down names of the travellers, purpose of travel along with registered vehicle number. However, the visitors are not even checked for body temperature with thermal gun.
With no testing facilities in place, there is no guarantee that the people visiting the State are COVID positive or not.
On the other hand, the check post at Banda, Maharashtra visitors are checked for body temperature with thermal gun and only those possessing e-pass are allowed to enter the neighbouring State.
