Operations at Zuari Agro Chemicals NPK plant resumes

VASCO:  Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd (ZACL) resumed its NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium) plant operations on Saturday evening. Cortalim MLA Alina Saldhana thanked Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for his intervention in making ZACL plant operational.
 The BJP MLA said she is relieved and happy that ZACL has resumed operations of one plant, which she added, meant that ‘many workers will now feel secure about their jobs’.
She credited the CM for his intervention in the matter so that the company could obtain financial assistance. Elaborating further, she said that as per her knowledge, the subsidy that was overdue had been released, which helped the company to move forward.
“I have no doubt that the second plant will also restart within a short period of time and I can say that this was possible due to the mutual understanding between the management and the workers” she added.
Sancoale Sarpanch Girish Pillai also spoke about the ZACL plant located in Sancoale and pointed out that many of the employees, workers are from Zuarinagar and Sancoale. “We were frightened that if this company shuts then the revenue, which the panchayat receives will be stopped. The resumption of operations at ZACL is good news, “he added.
