MARGAO: Working at a frantic pace the incomplete pavement of Opinion Poll square up to the Ravindra Bhawan circle has been fitted with pavers to prepare it for the Carnival Float Parade on Sunday even as Carnival celebrations began in Margao on Saturday with the Big Fat Fatorda Carnival Blast.
The carnival celebrations took off today with three bands and DJ Navin in attendance. The three bands were Goa’s well known Forefront along with The Slipping Chairs from Colombo and The Camel Riders an international band.
While the carnival float parade will commence at 4 pm tomorrow it will be followed by a musical programme with Lorna belting out some songs and the bands Purple Rain, Tidal Wave and True Blue in attendance.
On 12th February there will be fancy dress competition and a Konkani musical programme by P Agnel and group. Besides bands Sky High and Aces will also perform. There will also be a Mando performance and zumba dance.
On 13th there will be a musical evening with Lynx, Raagas to Riches being in attendance.
13 starred hotels have taken up space along the footpath at the Opinion Poll Square where they will be serving some of food items to the people present. Some of the hotels that have set up stalls are Sharda Classic. Fisherman’s Wharf, Radisson, Planet Hollywood, Alila Diwa, Taj Exotica and Kenilworth.
