MARGAO: Accusing the Opposition of misleading the people by tagging the BJP government as communal, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday said the State government is working hard for the betterment of minorities in Goa.
Addressing the gathering at the Manora-Raia on the occasion of birthday celebration Anthony Barbosa, Vice-President, BJP ST Morcha on Wednesday, Sawant assured full support to the minorities.
“BJP is neither against the Catholic community nor against the minorities. My government is working hard to provide best services to the minority community. Prime Minister Narendra Modi meeting Pope Francis is a perfect example that BJP believes in harmony”, he said.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of ST leader Anthony Barbosa for the community and appealed to the people to support him.
Several personalities from the field of sports, social service, and art and culture were felicitated by the Chief Minister. Cuncolim MLA Clafasio Dias, Margao Ravindra Bhavan chairman Damu Naik, besides several others attended.
