MARGAO: Congress in-charge of Goa Dinesh Gundu Rao claiming that it was the duty of all right thinking people to fulfill the dreams of freedom fighters to preserve the unique identity and culture of Goa, said that if Congress comes to power in 2022 then all the projects which will destroy Goa’s environment and identity will be scrapped.
He said the Congress Party was taking a pledge on the historic day and at the historic place to be the voice of the people of Goa and to preserve and protect the rich heritage of the unique State of India. He pointed out that the Congress had scrapped the Special Economic Zone projects in Goa as people did not want it and said similarly the project not wanted by the people will be scrapped.
He pointed out that Congress has always tried to preserve the culture and heritage of Goa and said the party will continue to fulfill the dreams and vision of the freedom fighters who fought so valiantly to secure Goa in its totality.
Earlier Dinesh Gundu Rao along with GPCC president Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, former minister Aleixo Sequeira, Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress President Beena Naik, South Goa District president Joe Dias and Vice Chairperson of Margao Municipal Council Deepali Sawal and other Congress members paid floral tributes to Ram Manohar Lohia.
