Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat urged the Minister of Environment and Forest Prakash Javdekar to immediately withdraw the Consent letter issued to Karnataka by his Ministry bringing to the Ministers notice that the matter on Mhadei was pending before the Court.
The Minister cited his ignorance about issuance of any such letter and assured the all-party delegation to clarify on the same within ten days.
“I have urged him to ensure that no injustice is done on Goa,” Kamat said here.
He continued, “I want to make it crystal clear that we will fight till our last breath to protect our lifeline Mhadei. Our agitation will continue all across the State and we will lead the people’s movement to fight for Mhadei.”
Meanwhile criticising the Union Minister Prakash Javdekar’s statement on Mhadei, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar said that the admission of total ignorance by Javdekar about the Environment Clearance letter issued to Karnataka for Kalsa-Banduri project by his own Ministry officials has made it loud and clear that the Government at the Centre is run by Modi-Shah duo and others have no relevance and importance at all.
“It is very open now that even the tweeter handles of the Ministers are with the PMO and BJP Headquarters and are used by Modi-Shah duo for managing their Jumlas,” he alleged.
He questioned how can the Union MoEF&CC Prakash Javdekar claim his ignorance about the letter issued by his own Ministry?
“If that was the case, who tweeted on 23rd October 2019 from his verified tweeter account to which another Union Minister Pralhad Joshi replied. BJP should come clean on this immediately,” he said.
Chodankar said that in continuance of taluka rotests, Congress will stage demonstrations in Sattari on Tuesday November 5 at 11 am at Valpoi Deputy Collectors Office and simililarly on Wednesday, November 6 in Bicholim taluka against the biased approach of BJP towards Karnataka over Mhadei.
