In anticipation of the upcoming budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, opposition MLAs are set to convene on January 8, Monday, to formulate a unified strategy. The legislative session is slated to commence on February 2, lasting for six days.
Leader of the Opposition, Yuri Alemao, announced that the meeting of opposition MLAs will be held at 4:30 pm in Porvorim. All opposition parties have been extended invitations to partake in discussions aimed at crafting a cohesive strategy for effective representation on the floor of the House.
Prior to the opposition MLAs’ meeting, the Congress Legislative Party will assemble at 3 pm in Porvorim, initiating pre-discussions to align their positions. The strategic gathering seeks to consolidate the efforts of opposition members and ensure a coordinated approach during the legislative session.
Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai has summoned the assembly session, during which he will address the House members, providing insights into the achievements of the state government. The meeting on January 8 is poised to play a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for a concerted opposition stance and fostering effective deliberations during the forthcoming legislative session.
