Tawadkar on Friday disallowed the private members’ resolution moved by the
opposition benches on the Manipur violence issue on the floor of the house. The
resolution was moved by AAP MLA Cruz Silva on Friday during the ongoing monsoon
session of the assembly. Silva demanded the discussion on Manipur violence
should happen on the floor of the house. As the matter was disallowed
Opposition MLAs including LoP Yuri Alemao, Venzy Viegas, Cruz Silva, Viresh
Borkar and Altone D’Costa sat on a protest outside the assembly complex after
the speaker disallows resolution on Manipur, accusing the present Government
insensitive and are not bothered about the riots going on in Manipur.
