PANJIM: The opposition party members on Wednesday said that key issues affecting the State have not been covered in the Governor’s address, while Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that more than 1500 applications of Griha Aadhar scheme have been approved and even some of them have already been cleared.
Speaking during Motion of Thanks to Governor’s address to the House, Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas said the Governor in his address to the House has not mentioned crucial issues like smart city Panaji, Mhadei water, tiger reserve.
He also pointed out that there is no mention of resumption of mining, creation of jobs, supply of electricity, decline in quality tourists, taxi service and regional plans.
Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardesai said the Governor’s address has not mentioned the problem of unemployment in the State.
“Government has introduced many schemes but we do not know how many jobs have been created because of them. Only enrollment is not an achievement,” he said.
He also demanded that Goan sportspersons and athletes be promoted as only organising events are not going to help.
St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar said that the Marina project at Nauxi will destroy the ecology in its nearby areas.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said more than 1500 applications of Griha Aadhar scheme approved. He also clarified that government is not using Paytm banking services. The CM further pointed out that the crime detection rate in the State is 85 per cent, which is the best in the country.
