VASCO: In what may be called as a self-goal, the Vasco police officials have themselves paved way for the detention of the alleged accused Anurag Rajawat in the Vasco vapour cloud explosion case.
It is clear that if the media, especially O Heraldo, had not exposed the clear fallacies and loopholes in the investigating including securing the scene of alleged crime, the case would have been closed as an accident.
In a statement given to a section of print media, the Vasco police have said that they were informed and investigation has revealed that the knob of the gas stove was open when the incident happened.
The Vasco police say that they are investigating the matter.
They are trying to find out which of the three persons left the knob open for the gas to flow out and accumulate resulting in the explosion.
The fact that there is a dowry, a domestic quarrel and a suspected adultery angle, there is enough room to detain the husband on suspicion. He was the only third person who was in the house a few minutes before the blast. The brother and the son of the two deceased Shivani Rajawat and Jaidevi Chauhan have insisted and lately directly alleged that the Navy Official Anurag Rajawat is involved in the planned killing of his dear ones and has denied any final rites on the mortal remains of Shivani until the accused is not brought to the books.
A Vasco police official was quoted in a news report, said, “We were then informed by a neighbour that the knob of the gas regulator was on when he rushed to the flat after the explosion and that he had closed it after reaching the flat and this raised our suspicion.”
The official further adds, “During investigation, the police realised that the cylinder was intact and we then began probing the incident on the basis of explosion due to gas accumulation.”
All these facts now make it imperative for the police to detain the accused which they have not done till date maintaining that they are taking statements and investigation is on.
My mother was desperate to get back to Morena on any ticket and any train: Shubham
Shubham Singh Chauhan has revealed that Jaidevi Chauhan was in an unexplained hurry to get back to Morena, her native place with her daughter. “I was trying to buy a better ticket for both of them for a comfortable journey to Morena, MP. However, my mother insisted that I buy whatever type of ticket was available at that moment and book their journey as soon as possible. I did not suspect any wrong but realised it later after the incident,” he said.
In other States, the case might have been closed as an accident, if the media wasn’t there: Shubham
Expressing gratitude to the media and the people of Goa for their unwavering support during this challenging time, brother and son of deceased Shivani Rajawat and Jaidevi Singh Chauhan has thanked the press and media in Goa for the unique and compassionate nature of the Goan community.
“Despite being at their native place in Madhya Pradesh, the family acknowledges the distinctive culture of Goa, where the media and various NGOs have reached out to provide moral and legal support.”
In a heart breaking incident that occurred on Saturday, November 18, 2023, Jaidevi Chauhan (50 years old) and Shivani, wife of Anurag Singh Rajawat (26 years old), lost their lives in a mysterious explosion in Vasco. Shubham Singh Chauhan, son of Jaidevi Chauhan and brother of Shivani, has released a press note on behalf of the grieving family.
Shubham Singh Chauhan emphasized the difference in Goa’s culture, noting that in other States, the case might have been closed as an accident without the presence of relatives to follow up with the police and SDM. “We have scheduled appointments with the police and SDM starting from December 7th, planning to travel to Goa for the recording of statements,” Chauhan said.
