Anniversary offer at Tanishq

Goan gets liver transplant at Bangalore
PANJIM: A successful liver transplant operation was performed on a 48-year-old Goan at the super specialty quaternary care BGS Global Hospitals. The patient was diagnosed with end stage liver disease. Dr Sonal Asthana, consultant, multi organ transplant surgeon, said that the patient had been unwell for 2-3 years with increased tiredness and had lost nearly 20 kg in one year. He had also developed jaundice since Dec 2013. Dr Filipe Alvarez made the diagnosis of chronic liver disease and assessed that he needed an urgent liver transplant and so contacted Global Integrated Liver care team at BGS Global Hospitals Bangalore. A suitable organ became available and the transplant operation took 7 hours. The patient was discharged in three weeks.
Coin fest in city begins today
PANJIM: Coin festival Goa will be held from December 7 to 10, at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panjim. The Festival has been organized for the first time in Goa with a view to spread awareness about the numismatic heritage of Goa. Minister of Archaeology Francis Pacheco will be the chief guest at the inaugural, while Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar will release the special first day cover on December 8. 2 senior collectors of Goa coins will also be felicitated. Lecture on coins by historians and scholars will also be held and also a coins auction.
Town planner Puttaraju feted
PANJIM: The Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza, also the Town & Country Planning & Urban Development Minister, was the chief guest for the felicitation function of Dr S T Puttaraju, Chief Town Planner of the Town & Country Planning department organised by Credai-Goa, the confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association India – Goa chapter, on November 28, at Vivanta by Taj, Panjim. The President of Credai-Goa, Dr Jagannath (Desh) Prabhudessai said that Credai-Goa is the apex body for private real estate developers in Goa. Deputy Chief Minister in his address said that he has been recently assigned the post of the Minister for Town & Country Planning and needs time to study the various issues.
