MARGAO: Chairperson of Margao Municipal Council (MMC), Damodar Shirodkar on Monday expressed confidence that the order pertaining to cancellation of recruitment of posts will be withdrawn and the process will start very soon.
Speaking to reporters, the Chairperson of MMC once again clarified that all the misunderstandings between Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and him have been sorted out and he will continue to serve the municipality.
The advertisement published for filling nearly 43 posts in the civic body, had been cancelled by the government citing that these were needed to be filled through Directorate of Urban Development or Staff Selection Commission.
The Chairperson said that discussion on the topic was held with the Margao MLA and it has been assured that the order of cancellation of recruitment will be withdrawn and the process will start at the earliest.
It is pertinent to note that the civic body had published an advertisement for filling of nearly 43 posts including lower division clerks, assistant multi-skilled staff etc. However, the Urban Development Department had later suggested that the advertisement be withdrawn, resulting in confusions among the interested candidates.
Now, Shirodkar has disclosed that the order issued to cancel the recruitment process through the civic body will be withdrawn soon.
The Chairperson further said that there are inputs that municipal engineers are trying to create issues and hence will implement new working patterns.
He said that the promotions of employees, which had been kept pending for the last 17 years, were cleared after hard efforts by doing all the necessary corrections on the roster and files.
