Order in Anwar case on Aug 17

MARGAO: The Sessions Court Margao will pronounce the order on framing charges against the six accused for the murder attempt on Anwar Shaikh alias ‘Tiger’ on August 17.
The hearing of the case with regards to the charge-sheet filed by the Fatorda Police was held before Additional Session Judge Vincent Silva on Thursday.
Police had registered cases against the accused under Sections 143, 147, 148, 307, read with Section 149 of the IPC and Sections 3 and 5 of Arms Act and, besides under Section 120 B and Section 212 of the IPC. On February 16 at Arlem Circle, the accused attacked Anwar who sustained serious injuries.
On the day of the hearing with regards to framing of charges, Imran Bepari of Santa Cruz and Harshvadhan Saval of Mapusa remained absent and hence the same was fixed for further orders on August 17.
The court has ordered that charges be framed against Vally George da Costa, Ricky Hornekar, Sudhan D’Costa, Harshvadhan Saval, Imran Bepari, and Amir Gawandi. Three accused have already been discharged by the court due to lack of evidence.
