Order modified in compliance of HC directions

In compliance with the directions of High Court of Bombay at Goa, the Goa government late Tuesday night issued an order prohibiting inter-State movement of persons except for those carrying COVID-19 negative certificates. The order issued by the South District Magistrate is applicable for every passenger travelling into Goa via flight, rail and road.

“… any person coming from outside Goa into South Goa District, to be checked for COVID negative test report for a test done a maximum of 72 hours prior to entering in Goa,” states the order.

It further exempts persons entering Goa for medical emergency on producing proof or travelling in an ambulance; and persons entering in goods vehicles for supply of essential services as described in the High Court order. These vehicles shall not carry unconnected persons.

The High Court has observed that district magistrates were bound by its order to make COVID negative certificate for all irrespective of Goan or non-Goan.
