MAPUSA: Calangute police have arrested one Loknath Mishra, a native of Orissa with drugs.
On late Tuesday night, some Calangute locals found the accused moving suspiciously near Newton’s supermarket in the village and caught him. On checking his scooter dickey, they found substance suspected to be drugs.
The locals then immediately informed the Calangute police. A team of Calangute police immediately rushed at the spot and took the accused and suspected drug substance into their custody.
The accused was found possessing around 500 grams of narcotic substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 25,000. Police have also seized the vehicles bearing.
The accused was produced before a local court which remanded him in judicial custody. Calangute police are investing the case.
