Orissa native kills uncle in a brawl

MARGAO: A 20-year-old native of Orissa allegedly killed his maternal uncle last night during a late night brawl reportedly under the influence of alcohol. Both were living in the labourers quarters provided to them at Kale property on the banks of River Sal in Benaulim.

The accused Dinesh Gawda reportedly hit his uncle Chandra Gawdi (27) on his head with a hammer causing his death. After hitting his uncle, Dinesh went to sleep in the neighbouring room with other labourers.
In the morning Manjunath Malappa the supervisor informed the police about the death following which police conducted an investigation and arrested Dinesh Gawda. Police also recovered the murder weapon from the accused.
Police Inspector Filomeno Costa is investigating the matter.
