MARGAO: South Goa deputy education director Ramacrishna Samant on Thursday instructed the Margao ADEI to ascertain the factual position at the St Pius X High School, Orlim, which is in the eye of a row over denial of admission for students of Std I.
Samant’s action came after a group of parents called on him on Thursday morning, a day after their wards were denied admission by the Orlim school.
The parents submitted a memorandum to the deputy education director drawing his attention to denial of admission by the school management. They pointed out that they have no where to go at this late stage and requested the government to make arrangements at the school.
Samant later told the media that he has instructed the education official to ascertain the factual situation and report to his office. He has expressed confidence of resolving the issue amicably. “I have told the parents that they will know of the exact position by Monday. We will see how best to accommodate the left out students”, Samant said.
