Outburst on social media over the siege of Panjim

The social media has been abuzz with comments on the siege of Panjim by mining dependents on Monday. Herald reproduces a few of the comments

Eva Carmen D’Souza: Who are these people who take the law in their own hands & block the roads? What about the people whose livelihood got affected today? What about the ambulances plying on the roads? How selfish are these people who forget about our Goa’s natural resources? Who gives these so called mining dependents sole right over OUR GOAN RESOURCES? Why not protest to get the thousands of crores these mining companies have cheated our state of? These robbers, looters, destroyers of Goa are on the road today for what?
Mario Rebello: What livelihood are they talking. They have all looted enough all these years the mineral wealth belonging to every Goenkar. Long live the Supreme Court Of India.
Ruskin Mascarenhas: People should burn effigy Of politicians and the One Who was running illegal mining not Claude Alvares…
Otto De Oliveira Fernandes: Proud of our District Magistrate Ms. Nila Mohanan and the Goa Police for taking tough action against the errant mob who tried to hijack Panjim city and paralyse the Mandovi bridges.
Pravesh Prabhu: Think Nilesh Cabral by joining the protest has lost the moral right to stay as the chairman of GTDC. The blockage caused hassles to tourists which led to many missing their flights and bad memories of the state.
Ninil D’Souza: In Mumbai, the Maharashtrian farmers see to it that students were not hassled so they were walking in the night time. Learn from them and do your agitation you would have got sympathy from others. Now you are hated by public. No sympathy.
Yash Salgaonkar: Today’s agitation by the mining affected people was totally unacceptable. Violence has no place in a democratic agitation or protest. We are Goenkars and peace and love is the pride of our roots ! Lets always maintain the sanctity of Goen and Goenkarpon ! #MiningBanInGoa
Amit Palekar: Is Goa Government hand in gloves with the agitators and let them block roads. So many have missed flights. I know a couple whose infant kid is unwell and stuck in Porvorim and they on this side and they can’t reach the kid when they are to fly to Dubai now. How pathetic the Government machinery is.
Anil Rodrigues: I for one do not sympathise with the ‘dependants’ and their well staged and vexatious protest today; Ironically all protests are for the ban on illegal mining. The mines will eventually shut down in a decade and the ban is the first wake up call to all ‘dependants’, industrialists, government and society, to pull up their socks and seek the future in activities other than mining.
Darshan Kerkar: Agitators shouldn’t choose crucial day to press their demands. Instead of getting sympathy, they’d surely invite curses #12thExams
Rohan Govenkar: At first when I heard there’s going to a miner’s strike, I thought we’d get to see a handful of people with designer eyeshades taking a rally around the city in their BMWs and Jaguars. But I guess it’s too hot for that, so they sent in their workers instead.
