MARGAO: Following warning from the Margao municipality to seal the premises, several vendors and owners of the business establishments in the town are approaching the civic body to apply for trade licences. Over 50 traders have applied for the trade licence in the last few days.
Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes said many have applied for the trade licence following the civic body’s warning to seal their premises.
It is pertinent to note that a few days ago the CO had warned the business establishments to apply for the trade licence, as they were found carrying out businesses illegally. This has affected the civic body’s revenue generation.
Fernandes said the Council has given them a deadline till November 30 to apply for the trade licence. And thereafter the process of sealing the premises will commence.
