MARGAO: The alleged illegal gadda installed at Kadamba bus stand, here, was removed on Friday.

Earlier, this issue had resulted in a war of allegations between the Margao Municipal Council and Tourism Minister Manohar Babu Ajgaonkar.  Sources revealed that the concerned party himself removed the alleged illegal gadda.

Reportedly on Thursday, the demolition squad of the MMC had to return back without initiating action at the alleged illegal gadda. The gadda belonged to close relatives of Tourism Minister Ajgaonkar.

Later, this resulted in a war of allegations between MMC Chairperson Lyndon Pereira and Minister Ajgaonkar. The MMC Chairperson had even alleged that Ajgaonkar was supporting illegal activities in the jurisdiction of Margao municipality.

On the other hand, the Minister had challenged the ruling council of MMC to take action against all the illegal activities in Margao and Fatorda. Speaking to Herald, Lyndon said that the MMC had planned to initiate action against the illegal gadda, on Monday.

“The demolition squad of MMC had to return back due to no police protection. However, we had planned to remove the illegal gadda on Monday. Now, it has been brought to our notice that the concerned party had removed the gadda on Friday,” he stated.
