The High Court of Bombay at Goa has extended the deadline of the three-member committee to submit its inquiry report into oxygen supply issues, by four weeks. The Committee headed by IIT Director Dr B K Mishra was directed to submit the report within three days of the Court order dated May 13, 2021. Since some of its members had tested COVID-19 positive, the submission has not been made so far.
The Court observed that the report should have been submitted at the earliest, when, the issues relating to the supply of oxygen or logistics involved were at their peak. “This is possibly the reason why the order dated May 13, 2021required submission of the report within three days. Be that as it may, at least now the report should be submitted by this Committee within a reasonable period of a maximum of 4 weeks. Although the findings in such report may not bind any parties as such, the report will at least assist the State Administration in effectively addressing the issues of oxygen supply at the Goa Medical College, so that the State Administration is well geared up to address the issues that may arise on account of the third wave of the pandemic,” reads the order.
